Your guide meets you at the drawbridge and your tour moves through the castle’s most remarkable spaces: lavishly decorated royal chambers, splendid halls and secluded rooms that carry 800 years of Swedish royal history. Your guide brings these spaces to life with stories of the Swedish monarchs, court intrigues, and the political events that shaped Sweden from within these walls.
Midway through the tour, your group pauses for a glass of chilled champagne in a private salon overlooking Kalmar Sound.
The experience ends in the castle’s Grand Hall. This is not a restaurant. It is a vast, normally private room with a wooden floor, towering windows, and chandeliers overhead – set with a single round table placed in the centre, exclusively for your group.
