A Rare Visit to the Private Gardens of Solliden Palace
“Solliden was built by my great-grandmother, Queen Victoria, and was completed in 1906. I inherited the palace in 1950. It is my intention to preserve Solliden, so that future generations will be able to enjoy its unique and glorious gardens.”
King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden
Tour description
This is a private access shore excursion in Kalmar, Sweden. Solliden Palace was built by Queen Victoria in 1906 with inspiration from Italy and has been the Royal Family’s summer paradise for generations. GO Nordic invites you to enter one of Sweden’s most cherished royal settings for a calm, beautifully curated two‑hour visit. A glass of sparkling wine sets an elegant tone before a charming tractor (flak) ride through the park.
You are then invited to an exclusive behind-the-scenes visit to the greenhouse visit (seasonal), conducted by the gardener, to learn about seasonal care and sustainability. The tour finishes with a traditional Swedish Fika. Slow travel, royal heritage and authentic storytelling — all in one refined experience.
