Tour description
Eketorps Borg is one of Scandinavia’s best-preserved Iron Age ringforts. Built in the 5th century and reconstructed to its original form, the site is not a museum behind glass. The workshops, warrior halls, and communal spaces are real, working reconstructions, and the stories told here connect you to the people who lived, worked, and fought inside these walls.
Your private guide meets you at the gates and takes you through the inner compound at your own pace. You hear about the craftspeople, the warriors, the traders, the families, as well as the hierarchy, the rituals, the trade routes, the rhythm of daily life inside a defended Iron Age community. Details that standard guided tours rarely reach.
Then you put your hands to work.
At the forge, you heat iron in a traditional fire and shape it under expert supervision. What you make is yours to keep.
At the archery range, you draw a period-style bow and learn the Viking technique. No experience needed.
At the bread station, you mix and bake Viking flatbread on a hearthstone using methods unchanged for over a thousand years. Warm, real, and made by your own hands.
